Privacy. In plain language.

A summary of what this website and our products do with your information.

Last updated October 11, 2026.

This website

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. A session cookie protects the contact form. A separate secure account cookie supports shared sign-in across hameltonsoftware.com and its participating subdomains. A theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser.

Contact form

If you send a message, we receive your name, email address, chosen topic, selected software products and message in our company mailbox so we can respond to your inquiry. The website does not maintain a separate contact-message database or message log. Your email and our reply may remain in the mailbox as part of our correspondence.

Accounts and software licenses

If you register, we store your name, email address, a password hash, email verification status and account creation date. We do not store your password in readable form. Verification and password reset links expire and can be used only once.

Sign-in sessions are shared by the main website and participating subdomains of hameltonsoftware.com. This does not sign you in to separate domains such as getwayfarer.org or sillbrowser.com. Signing out everywhere or resetting your password ends your other account sessions.

License records include the product, edition, activation allowance, expiry when applicable and associated account. Recoverable license codes are encrypted in private storage. You must confirm your account password to retrieve a saved Ripple code. Activation records include a hash of an application-generated installation identifier, a device name or website domain and activation timestamps. Ripple also records whether a site is production, staging or local, and the linked production domain when applicable. Do not use a private or identifying device name if you prefer not to share it.

Account and licensing data is retained to provide your account and entitlements. Security records include account actions and hashed identifiers used to limit abuse. To request account deletion or ask about your records, contact hello@hameltonsoftware.com; deleting an account can affect access to its licenses.

Purchases and billing

Checkout and subscription management take place on Stripe’s hosted pages. We send Stripe your account email, the selected product and an order reference so a successful purchase can be linked to your account. Our website does not receive or store full payment card numbers or card security codes.

We keep order amounts, currency, payment and subscription status, Stripe transaction references and the resulting license entitlement. Verified Stripe payment events update these records. A purchase confirmation email includes your license details, a code when needed, download links and activation or installation instructions. For payment data handled by Stripe and its checkout services, read Stripe’s privacy policy.

Hosting and external links

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including request addresses, IP addresses and timestamps, for website operation and security. Links to product sites and account services take you to those sites, where their own privacy information applies.

Our products

Sill Browser has no account service and no analytics, and keeps stored passwords and profiles in a local encrypted vault on your computer. Wayfarer accounts are optional and are used for sync. Each product site describes its own data handling in more detail.
